Research Assistant/ Research Associate Opportunity in the Population Research Centre at ISEC
Position Name: Research Assistant/Research Associate
Location: Bengaluru and Mysuru
Contract Duration: 6 months, extendable for the duration of the project
Eligibility Criteria:
1.Qualifications:
•Post Graduate Degree (Master’s or PhD) from reputed institutes/universities in social work, sociology, population studies, social policy, economics, anthropology, demography, human geography, public health, public policy or related degrees.
•Excellent qualitative research skills.
•Excellent knowledge of Kannada and English and excellent oral and written communication skills.
•Strong organisation and coordination skills.
•Computer skills (Microsoft suite) and aptitude to learn and work on new software.
2.Desired Skills:
•Strong planning skills, a proactive and independent work attitude; the ability to organise own work and related activities, ability to meet deadlines.
•Experience with conducting and analysing in- depth interviews and/or focus group discussions.
•Analytical skills in qualitative methodology.
•Familiarity with the Bengaluru / Mysuru cities.
Responsibilities:
•Adopt a systems approach to healthy ageing in India, focusing on supporting older adults to maintain their individuality and pursue activities they value.
•Collaborate with stakeholders from various organisations and sectors, alongside older adult participants, recruited from Bengaluru and Mysuru.
•Undertake a phased approach to analyse the ageing context, design a systems map, and formulate collaborative inter-sectoral strategies.
Benefits:
•Rs 30,000 to Rs 50,000 per month (consolidated) based on qualification and experience.
